Nanotechnology

Nanoscience and nanotechnology have developed a new strategic area of expertise in the Jyväskylä region. Focus area of the region is nanoscience and nanotechnology in the global business environment.

Nano Forum Jyväskylä is a regional informal society of world class business and research. It is a meeting forum for the companies of all sizes, the universities, the research institutions and the developers offering their know-how, conducting common R&D projects, and commercializing new applications. Several new companies have been commenced and new solutions in existing enterprises have been adopted.

The most important research partner is University of Jyväskylä with it's strong scientific infrastructure. In the University's Nanoscience Center over 100 researches from physics, chemistry and bioscience work in the front-line of the science and develop new applications with the enterprises.

The Jyväskylä Region Centre of Expertise participates in the national Nanotechnology Cluster Programme.
